Hi, I'm Tārini

Yoga Therapist & Holistic Wellness Guide

I know what it feels like to lose hope in your own body. To be told that the pain, the anxiety, the exhaustion — this is just how it is now. And I know what it feels like when something finally shifts.

That shift almost always begins with the same thing. Not a perfect posture. Not a complicated technique. A pause. One conscious breath. One moment of stillness in the middle of everything. That pause — the one your body has been waiting for — is where all of my work begins, and where my students tell me everything started to change.

I work with clients all around the world, online, in a deeply personal 1:1 therapeutic format. Just you, your practice, and the space to return to ease.

to your breath, your body, and the ease that was always there."

From California
to Chennai

My path to Yoga Therapy was anything but a straight line. And honestly, it is the not-straight parts that made me the therapist I am today.

In my early twenties I was living with a scoliosis diagnosis and a series of injuries that never healed properly. My doctors started me on narcotic pain medication at eighteen. By my mid-twenties I was fully dependent on opioids and still in pain. Nothing worked. I had completely lost hope that anything would ever change.

Then I took my first yoga class. I was blown away. It was the only thing that actually transformed my pain. That single realisation set something in motion that I could not stop even if I had tried. Yoga showed me that my body was not broken. It was capable of healing. It just needed the right conditions.

That discovery took me from Sacramento, California, all the way to India. I spent time living near the beaches of Goa, in the Himalayas, and dedicated a year to serving and learning at Vaidyagrama Āyurveda Hospital, surrounded by some of the most respected Āyurveda doctors in India. I volunteered, lived, and experienced firsthand the profound healing potential of Āyurveda. For over six years now, Chennai, South India, has been my home, where I have been immersed in the Krishnamacharya Tradition as a certified Yoga Therapist.

If you had told that girl in her early twenties — in pain, dependent, with no hope — that one day she would be guiding people all over the world to heal, she would have laughed in your face.

This is what Yoga Therapy can do. And I get to share it with you.

As Your
Yoga Therapist

My commitment is to show up for you with compassion, deep knowledge, and a practice that is entirely your own. I see each person as a unique individual — you are not a set of symptoms to be managed. You are a whole human being, with your own story, your own body, your own way of moving through the world.

Together we look at everything: your symptoms and your goals, your life circumstances, your energy levels, your mental clarity, the roles you carry at home and at work, your relationship with food and sleep. This depth of understanding is what allows the practice to create lasting change rather than temporary relief.

My training in the Krishnamacharya Tradition in South India, combined with certifications as a Yoga Vaidya (Yoga Therapist), Yoga Nidrā Facilitator, and many more years of extensive study, means I bring both a wealth of knowledge and a deeply ethical, responsible approach to every session.

My goal is simple: to empower you to restore balance, reclaim your vitality, and reconnect with the capacity for ease that already lives within you.

You don't need to
know yoga to begin

People come to me from all walks of life. Many have never tried yoga before, or have tried it and felt it wasn't for them. Some have been told by doctors that they will simply have to manage their symptoms forever. What they all share is a quiet sense that there has to be another way.

  • Chronic stress, burnout or anxiety
  • Chronic pain, injury or post-surgery recovery
  • Depression, trauma or emotional exhaustion
  • Addiction recovery support
  • Digestive issues or low energy
  • Peri-menopause or menopause
  • Feeling disconnected from your body
  • Simply needing the pause

What the practice
has given them

I have felt old stuck places in my hips and shoulders shifting for the good. My breathing practice has become a way of calming and clearing old anxiety patterns. I have learned much gentler ways to practice yoga, and I am grateful for Tārini and her enthusiasm.

— Client, USA

I've learned to be with my body without hate, sadness, or judgement — to just breathe and open up to the space in me that was so tight and closed off. I have gained so much insight on the importance of this part of my journey.

— Client, India

It has brought my anxiety from work and personal life to next to nothing. This practice has made me more aware and connected with my inner resource. The regularity and intention is key.

Things people ask
before we begin

What should I expect in my first session? +

Your first session is a comprehensive consultation. We'll talk through your health history, current symptoms, lifestyle, and wellness goals. I'll also do a gentle assessment of your movement and breath to understand your unique needs — and from there, we build your personalised therapeutic plan together.

Do I need yoga experience or flexibility? +

Absolutely not. Yoga Therapy is designed to meet you exactly where you are, regardless of experience or flexibility. We adapt everything to your body and your abilities — safety and ease always come first. Many of my clients had never practised yoga before we began.

How is this different from a regular yoga class? +

A regular class is designed for a broad audience. What I offer is entirely personalised — focused on your specific health challenges, pain, or goals. Every practice I create is built for you alone. There is no group, no performance, no comparison. Just your practice, held in a safe and therapeutic space.

How long before I notice a difference? +

Many clients report feeling a shift within the first few sessions — greater calm, better sleep, reduced pain or anxiety. For chronic conditions, consistent practice over 6–12 weeks often brings more significant and lasting changes. Healing is not always linear, but it is always cumulative.

What do I need for online sessions? +

A stable internet connection, a device with a camera (laptop or tablet works well), and enough clear floor space to move comfortably. I may suggest simple props like a yoga mat, a chair, or a cushion — but we always adapt to what you have available. That's the whole point.

Is this a replacement for medical treatment? +

No. Yoga Therapy is a complementary practice — it works alongside conventional medicine to support healing, reduce symptoms, and improve overall wellbeing. I always encourage you to keep working with your doctor or health team. We are on the same side.
